Ramya Shankar, the Founder/Artistic Director of "the Raga Monsters" has always wanted Raga Music to be accessible across ethnicities and ages. As a current performing Indo/Jazz vocalist and someone who is passionate about early childhood music education, she realizes how invaluable a strong musical foundation can be - herself having been exposed to Carnatic Classical Music at at early age and throughout her adult life; something she could apply across genres such as Jazz/Pop etc. So, her life mission is to introduce the magic of music to children at a tender age when those billions of neurons are forming!

The Raga Monsters is an ideal school of Early Raga Music for children to kickstart a life long love for music. Music is taught in a fun way that gives children the tools to express themselves. Combining strong fundamentals of the indian classical tradition and a kind and generic environment to learn, kids are taught how to master rhythms, simple melodies and ragas, hundreds of years old.

Music is universal. The world is getting more global. The lines are being blurred when it comes to genres, cultures etc. Keeping this in mind, the school encourages all ethnicities to experience raga music as an art form, and to use it as a tool for self-expression.
